Zakir Abdul Karim Naik was born on 18 October 1965 in Mumbai, India.[5] He attended St. Peter’s High School in Mumbai. Later he enrolled at?Kishinchand Chellaram College before studying medicine at?Topiwala National Medical College and Nair Hospital and later the?University of Mumbai, where he obtained a?Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS).[3] In 1991 he started working in the field of?Dawah.
Naik says he was inspired by?Ahmed Deedat,[6] an Islamic scholar. Naik says that his goal is to “concentrate on the educated Muslim youth who have become apologetic about their own religion and have started to feel the religion is outdated.”[7] He considers it a duty of every Muslim to remove perceived misconceptions about Islam and to counter what he views as the Western media’s?anti-Islamic bias in the aftermath of the?September 11, 2001 attacks (also known as 9/11) in the United States.[8] Some of his articles are published in magazines such as?Islamic Voice.[9][10][11]
Anthropologist?Thomas Blom Hansen has written that Naik’s style of memorizing the?Qur’an and?hadith literature in various languages and related missionary activity has made him extremely popular in Muslim and non-Muslim circles.[7] Many of his debates are recorded and widely distributed in video and DVD media and online. His talks are usually recorded in English and broadcast on weekends on several cable networks in Mumbai’s Muslim neighborhoods, and on the Peace TV channel, which he co-produces.[12][13] Topics he speaks on include: “Islam and Modern Science”, “Islam and Christianity”, and “Islam and?secularism“.
Naik is the founder of the?Islamic International School in Mumbai.
@Zarger Bilal, you are arguing from lack of evidence. Just because you may not’ve seen evidence that Naik misguides Muslims, that is not evidence that he doesn’t misguide. He has made various mistakes in his speeches and articles (either intentionally or unintentionally), but those who aren’t attentive and well grounded in Islam don’t spot them. To know those mistakes he made, just ask.
how many kafir that we have Islamised ?
Love the Lovers of Allah and Prophet Muhammad (SAW). That is best of all suggestions i can provide you.
Those who say that Dr. Zakir Naik is misleading the Muslims have a confusion with them which can not be cured even if they are given imported medicines as such diseases are by birth and the habits to comment like this are there in their blood, for which the science has not advanced so far, to provide a treatment at least on a temporary basis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We feel pride in having such a scholar in our Muslim community.
I challenge the intellectuals of other faith to have a debate with honorable Dr. Zakir Naik. If the leaders of other faiths believe that they are right, then why do not they come to share a common stage with the Islamic Scholars. Our Islamic Scholars provide an open challenge and particularly among those is the respected Dr. Zakir Naik.
We all love him from in the every beat of our heart and respect his mission of spreading the Islam in the ways that are considered most best.
he is misguiding muslims, by his speech.he should stop this.
